Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub fridge is an oversized 389-litre fridge with a 225-litre freezer. It's a huge American-style model that has high-quality temperature control and a dazzling array of smart features.

You can make it your own by removing panels to match your collection of matte black Rick Owens clothing and tie-dye Crocs.

All Round Cooling

In fridges with All Round Cooling, separate cooling circuits are used to keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, one evaporator cools the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This means that the low-humidity air from your freezer is circulated into your fridge and can cause your food items to dry out. This can cause them to taste bland and unpleasant.

Each shelf level is equipped with multiple vents to circulate cool air. This ensures a constant temperature even if you shut and open the fridge door.

Optimal Fresh zone keeps seafood and meats fresher for up to two times longer than in conventional refrigerators, and does not freeze. This feature is a game changer for anyone who loves cooking, but isn't keen on the hassle of thawing frozen fish or meat.

All Round Cooling utilizes an All Round Cooling metal cooling plate located at the back of the refrigerator in order to hold cold air and stop its loss when you open the door. It also reduces the need for power-defrosting to save time and money.

Samsung refrigerators feature one of the best ice dispensers we've tested. The patent-pending Twist Ice Maker dispensing large cubes can be dispensed by an easy twist and can be stored beneath the fridge when not being used. This gives you more shelf space and makes it easier to find your preferred beverages and snacks.

You can select which way your freezer and fridge open by using Reversible Doors. It is easy to fit your fridge into your kitchen layout while keeping it neat and neat.

Samsung's Family Hub is the central control for your SmartThings-connected home. It has a large touchscreen that is mounted on your refrigerator. It can show live video feeds from your smart doorbell, place orders for groceries using an automated inventory or suggest recipes that make use of the items you have on hand.

The flex drawers at the bottom of Samsung refrigerators are a clever storage solution that make it easier to store larger items such as canned drinks and pizza trays. They can be flipped up when not in use and they can be folded flat to use less space. This is an excellent option for those who are passionate about cooking and baking but are limited in their refrigerator storage space.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side-by-side fridge freezer features a unique three-zone system that lets you add an extra refrigerator compartment or a freezer drawer to your setup. This flexibility allows you to personalize your fridge freezer to fit your needs and storage requirements. The FlexZone module lets you upgrade your fridge to a larger or smaller size by adding an additional FlexZone.

The fridge has an elegant design that will fit in with any kitchen design. The stainless steel finish is sleek and sturdy. It also has an anti-fingerprint finish to keep the surface looking brand new. The refrigerator also comes with an external water and ice dispensers to make life easier.

This fridge comes with the FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted into a freezer or refrigerator. This lets you store things like ice cream, bags frozen vegetables, meat or fish in the freezer. It also performs well in our tests, though the 21.5-inch touchscreen's bloated apps and the absence of SmartThings and voice control integration are a missed opportunity.

The remainder of the fridge has plenty of space for food storage, with two crisper trays as well as a middle FlexZone drawer that can be customized. The latter lets you select between five different settings for the fridge freezer drawer according to your requirements. There are five options: A freezer setting, a soft freeze setting for wine trays or deli trays, for instance, a meat setting, a fish setting, and a beverage setting to store drinks, snacks, and frequently used items.

This Samsung FlexZone side-by-side refrigerator is an ideal choice for families that want the convenience of having a freezer and fridge in one. It's not as spacious than high-end French door models, however it has plenty of useful features and is an excellent alternative for those with small kitchens.

Samsung Fridge Freezers are very energy efficient due to their digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge, so that it doesn't fluctuate too much and keeps your food fresher for longer.  top freezer fridge  has earned it the Energy STAR Certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings isn't as popular a platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are but it does come with many smart devices you can add. It's also built into Samsung smartphones TVs, tablets and tablets - plus some fridges. It could be enough for some people especially if they own several Samsung products.

The SmartThings app is a bit elegant and well-rounded It comes with a 'if you do x, then y' automated section that performs surprisingly well. You can set things up as alarms that go off when sensors detect a flood or turning on the light when your phone determines you are at home. It can even control your refrigerator if you link it to a smart plug, although we've seen mixed results with that.

SmartThings requires a hub, which is not inexpensive. Samsung offers a variety of models, including the SmartThings Station, which you can connect to your router and uses as a nightlight. There's a lower-cost SmartThings hub dongle that can support Z-Wave, Zigbee and Thread.

Once you've got your smart fridge connected to your smartphone, hub and fridge, it's really easy to use. The SmartThings app lets you control your fridge from any location and sends notifications to your phone whenever it's opened or closed. You can set up schedules, change the temperature, and even set reminders.

SmartThings was a founding member in the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working to make major home appliances from different manufacturers interoperable. That could mean you can control your Samsung washer and dryer, Electrolux oven and LG television from the same app in the near future.

SmartThings isn't as popular as Alexa or Google Assistant but it does have some big names on its list, like Arlo Nest, Belkin, and Lifx. It's compatible with Matter protocol which allows for accessories to be paired regardless of brand. For the majority of people, however, merged Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is probably the best bet.

Family Hub

A fridge freezer doesn't get much more modern than this: it comes with an LCD display of 21 inches inside the door, along with a variety of clever features. Bixby, Samsung's voice-activated assistant, allows users to access entertainment apps, take notes for your family (think of it as a digital version of the notepad attached to the refrigerator) and check the weather forecast and much more.

The touchscreen allows you to manage food and recipes. You can add ingredients directly from an app and check out the contents of your fridge with internal cameras. You can make grocery lists on the go and track food items to check their expiration dates. You can also use a dedicated recipe app that will read out the instructions while you cook.

This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung says it's spent a year adjusting them to the needs of customer feedback. You can now create different profiles for each family member so that they can customize the information and apps they have access to. It's still not quite as good as having Alexa integration integrated into your fridge but it's an improvement on the previous model.

Apart from its ability to manage grocery and entertainment, Family Hub also acts as controller for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can onboard Matter-compatible devices like lights, plugs and locks and allow you to use the touchscreen to control them as well.

Samsung's fridge is a few years old and even though it has plenty of features however, its touchscreen capabilities are not a feature that many people would consider to be an essential feature. They're more fun and a bit of frivolous accessories than anything else.

This may change with the release of more software updates, but for now these models are ideal for those who wish to have the most comprehensive connected refrigerator that is possible. You can save money by purchasing one that does not include the Family Hub if you're not one of these people. If you own a variety of smart home appliances that you want to control from one screen, or if you are awed by the idea of a refrigerator equipped with a large touchscreen, it could be worth the money.
